Black Friday & Cyber Monday are ideally placed in the year to pick up deals on cycling clothing. It comes at the changing of seasons and when many of us think about swapping bib shorts for winter jackets. Although the actual days are just over a week away, these early deals are already live at some of the biggest cycling clothing retailers.

Specialized Recon ADV Shoes: Was $225, now $169 | Save 25% at Specialized

Specialized Recon ADV Shoes: Was $225, now $169 | Save 25% at Specialized

Specialized does a brilliant job across their Recon range of blending styles with performance and practicality. While we await a full review, Tyler put down his first impressions, he said "they’re very comfortable and transfer power adequately".

Showers Pass Transit Pants: Was $145, now $69 | Save 52% at Shower Pass

Showers Pass Transit Pants: Was $145, now $69 | Save 52% at Shower Pass

The Transit Pants from Showers Pass might not be the most breathable waterproof trousers but, they are seriously waterproof. If you want to stay dry during your commute or ride an e-bike, the Showers Pass Transit pants could be the perfect trousers.

7mesh Industries Mk3 Cargo Bibs: Was $229.95, now $183.96 | Save 20% at Competitive Cyclist

7mesh Industries Mk3 Cargo Bibs: Was $229.95, now $183.96 | Save 20% at Competitive Cyclist

By no means is this a big discount, especially in the grand scheme of Black Friday, it's just so rare to see 7Mesh clothing at a discount. It's noteworthy because the Mk3 Cargo Bibs came close to beating out the Assos Mille GTC Kiespanzer in our best cargo bibs test. So, at nearly $90 off the Assos price with this discount, they represent far greater value.

Smith Optics Triad Mips Helmet: Was $190, now $114 | Save 40% at Smith Optics

Smith Optics Triad Mips Helmet: Was $190, now $114 | Save 40% at Smith Optics

While we are yet to test the Triad, Hannah was a big fan of Smith Optics Trace Mips when she had that in for test last year. While the Triad looks less vented then the Trace it actually has one more, making it 19 vents over the Trace's 18. It's a much slimmer, more streamline design which should go down well with those looking to minimise their drag.

Giro Aries Spherical Mips Helmet: Was £299.99, now £199.99 | Save 33% at Sigma Sports

Giro Aries Spherical Mips Helmet: Was £299.99, now £199.99 | Save 33% at Sigma Sports

Giro consistently performs well, with many of their helmets featuring in our best helmet guides and even taking the best overall and best all-rounder with the Eclipse and Aether. The Aries Spherical is the #1 rated helmet by Virginia Tech, making it the safest bicycle helmet in the world.

Gore Wear Men's Torrent Jacket: Was £229.99, now £137.99 | Save 40% at Amazon UK

Gore describes the Torrent Jacket as a "race oriented, slim fitting, and highly breathable GORE-TEX jacket". Given its use of Gore-tex fabric, it is highly likely to perform well and at only 200 grams, it is pretty light for a fully waterproof jacket.

Castelli Perfetto RoS 2 Vest: Was £160, now £79 | Save 40% at Sigma Sport

Fizik X4 Powerstrap Gravel Shoes: Was £159.99, now £119.99 | Save 25% at Tredz

Fizik X4 Powerstrap Gravel Shoes: Was £159.99, now £119.99 | Save 25% at Tredz

Digital Editor Michelle was a big fans of the X4 powerstrap when she tested them, finding great comfort in infinite adjustment of those straps. It is a shoe that is better suited to dry conditions though, making them ideal for straddles road and light gravel duties.

Ecomm and Tech Writer

Like so many, Matt got his start in the bicycle industry wheedling allen keys and the occasional hammer at his local IBD. Matt grew up mountain biking the flint-strewn hills of the North Downs but was convinced during his time with Evans Cycles' in-house brand Pinnacle and Hoy Bikes, to take up gravel cycling and bikepacking. Spotting the changing industry, Matt jumped at the opportunity to become an E-Bike designer. Winning several awards with Cairn Cycles and their range of Gravel E-bikes.

These days Matt will more than likely have a toddler sat shotgun and balance bike lassoed to his back somewhere on the South Downs. What time he does get to ride for himself, he chooses to take his Sonder Camino to just about anywhere that's quiet, off the beaten track or has some historical point of interest.
